College Scholarships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Kiwanis Club of Queen Creek provides college scholarships of $15,000 annually to High School Seniors in the Queen Creek Unified School District, as well as partner schools in the American Leadership Academy, ASU Prep, Chandler, Coolidge, Combs, Florence, and Higley Districts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Club Sponsorships<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our Kiwanis Club sponsors and supports Key Club Service Leadership Projects at area High Schools including Queen Creek, ASU Prep, Basha, and Higley High Schools. We help facilitate the Key Club meetings, provide mentoring, and promote service and leadership in and through these self-directed clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student of the Month Awards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Kiwanis Club of Queen Creek issues Student of the Month Awards to students in Middle\/Junior and Senior High Schools. We have nearly 20 participating schools in the Queen Creek, ALA, Canyon State Academy, Chandler, Combs, and Higley School Districts. The Awards ceremony attendance often exceeds 80 students, parents, and Kiwanians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3rd Grade School Supplies <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our Kiwanis Club provides and delivers school supplies to 3rd grade classes at over 25 local Elementary Schools at the beginning of each school year. The schools\/teachers are able to choose from several different types of supplies to ensure that each student receives something useful that enhances the curriculum in their class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunshine Acres Day of Play<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our Queen Creek Club is the primary sponsor of an annual Day of Play at Sunshine Acres Children’s Home in Mesa. Sunshine Acres is a non-profit, faith-based facility that provides a loving, wholesome, Christian home for children who are separated from their parents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with several other Kiwanis Clubs from the Southeast Valley, including Chandler, The Superstitions, Gilbert, Apache Junction and others, we put on a fun event that includes carnival-style games and contests, crafts, face painting, sports, appearances by former pro athletes, and a picnic-style lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to School Shopping<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In partnership with the Queen Creek Family Resource Center we sponsor and staff a Back to School Shopping Day with our partners at JCPenney in Superstition Springs. Our members accompany 30 to 40 children from the Title I program in the Queen Creek USD and help them choose clothing requested by their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids’ Christmas Car Show and Toy Drive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

 Our Annual Kid’s Christmas Car Show & Toy Drive benefits less fortunate children in Queen Creek and nearby areas. We attract over 200 entries, hundreds of spectators and collect at least 500 toys to donate to local kids in partnership with the Queen Creek Family Resource Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Projects and Events<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In partnership with the Queen Creek Family Resource Center, we pack Thanksgiving meal boxes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We provided 140 backpacks to the Mary Gloria Foundation in Queen Creek in support of their Back 2 School Blitz this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also participate in the Christmas Angels program to provide essential needs and gifts at Christmas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We partner with the Town of Queen Creek Fire and Medical and support their Cadet program. We also work with the Maricopa County Adopt a Road program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We help support the Ronald McDonald House in Mesa by providing, preparing, and serving meals to the families whose children are undergoing medical treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We sponsor two local Scouting America troops and a Cub Scout Pack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
